CASE MANAGERS

"One of our clients is bi-polar, insulin-dependent, 57 year-old female with a history of confusion and short-term memory loss. Prior to installation of MD.2, she was having significant difficulties both with daily living activities and with numerous health complications due to her medical conditions. She was seeing multiple physicians plus receiving 30 hours of services per month from our agency.

Due to MD.2, I have observed a dramatic positive change in this woman. She now works two days a week and can utilize mass transit for trips to the store. Her health issues have also improved. Her blood sugar is now in normal range where before she continually ran over 200. We have only gone to the doctor once per month.

We are reducing our agency hours to 25 hours per month equating to a savings of $145 per month to the state. We possibly may reduce our hours further as needed."
Wendy Harrison
B&D Services, Independence, IA

"MD.2 has been a tremendous asset to our clients. We've been able to help a number of customers who would be in nursing homes or other institutional living if not for MD.2. The state programs have also benefited. A traumatic brain injury patient's monthly case management costs were reduced $930 PER MONTH by using MD.2."
Jerri McCraken, First Call Manager
Cedar Valley Medical Monitoring, Allison, IA

AREA ASSOCIATION ON AGING

"One of our residents came very close to death this October because of mismanagement of her medications. Although she had been managing properly the medications she had been taking long term, her physician prescribed a new medication for her. Due to mismanagement, she ended up in the ER due to an overdose of the new medication.

After these incidents, we worked with the family to immediately install an MD.2. The resident is doing very well with this machine and we have had no further medical emergencies with her."
Judy Parks, Associate Director
Heritage Area Agency on Aging, Cedar Rapids, IA

HOME HEALTH

"One of our clients is an early onset Alzheimer's patient living at home by himself. He was using a pill planner but taking Tuesday's medication on Friday. The family does not live in the area and was considering daily care or some type of senior living facility. With MD.2, our client has regularly taken his medication and is doing much better physically. He can live independently, at home, where he wants to live. The family loves the ability to look on the Internet and track their father's dispensing and is very pleased with MD.2's capabilities."
Lloyd Markhum, President
Access Home Health, Springfield MO
